25% off poker lessons!

I have decided to re-open my coaching services.

Now is the perfect time to improve your game at a huge discount, as I'm offering poker lessons for 25% off!!! Improve your game significantly so when online poker sorts itself out you can annihilate your opponents!

I have decided that I will offer my services at 25% off of what my hourly coaching rate was when I last coached in 2010, which was $250 per hour. It will now be $187.50 per hour. I think this is a great value and you have the added bonus of knowing that I'm a considerably improved poker player since the last time I was coaching students.

My coaching lessons are two hours in length and I feel like a minimum of 5 lessons (10 hours) is ideal for being able to fully convey my knowledge to you and have a significant impact on improving your game. If you choose to purchase a 5 lesson package, I will give you even a further discount of 20% off of the already reduced hourly fee of $187.50 on the entire lesson package. That's only $150 per hour for quality poker lessons! That's a total of 40% off my normal coaching rate!!!

My specialties are NLHE 6 Max cash games and mass tabling. I can help boost your # of tables played by at least a table or two by helping you understand how to use a few secret things that I've discovered in my VPP quest this year... I have slightly over 930k VPPs so far in 2011.

If you would like to contact me about getting lessons feel free to private message me on Cardrunners.com or email me at "Duckslayer2k@gmail.com" and I'd be glad to respond.

fk my life again

The nightmare from last month continues. Ran as bad as I've ever ran today.

Don't read this if you're going to made a dumb comment on this post accusing me of whining. It's my blog and I'll write whatever the hell I want on it.

I'm sick and tired of people suggesting I don't have a good mental game. You don't even have a clue. I'm very solid in that aspect, in my opinion... I continued to play my best throughout this whole session after getting raped over and over again when I had the best of it. I've read the poker mindset, understand the realities of poker, etc. but it's just really tough to remain happy and motivated to play when severely getting crushed by no fault of your own. It's pretty demoralizing.

It's so natural to get frustrated in extreme instances of "run bad". There's a difference between being frustrated over the results and letting it affect your play. People who have a poor mental game let it affect their play and I definitely don't.

I think that most players would have been on severe monkey tilt towards the end of the session I just had. It was pretty ridiculous.

I got stacked for 100bbs twelve different times. I've reviewed the hands and I think that only one of them was a marginal stack off, and that was a somewhat close pre-flop shove blind v. blind with 88 vs someone with a 18% 3-bet stat over a decent sample... He had AA in that hand.

The only other hand was perhaps that JJ overpair on the raggedy wet board but I am pretty sure that player does that with 88-TT as well as a ton of draws, so I think that was fine. Otherwise, pretty much every hand I posted I think I played pretty well.

I only stacked 4 opponents for 100bbs or more. I have run really bad on UB since the merger with AP when the CEREUS network started to get tracked by tableratings.com. I absolutely crushed it before that merger. I don't really think anything fishy is going on but then again who knows, they dont' have a great track record obviously...

I think I have to switch it up and play on a different site for a while, even though I was trying to place high in the rake race they have there every month, it's like a free $1k or so in extra rakeback. I'm just getting the feeling like I don't have a chance to win when I first sit down and obviously that isn't a good feeling to have. Definitely not a confidence booster.

I'll just switch the site up for a bit, keep playing well, and hopefully it'll turn around sometime soon. The only plus about this recent bad run is that I moved down to 400NL during the carnage so at least I'm getting unlucky there instead of 1k NL.

  1. Just coming off a 25bi downswing myself, which reminded me that when the cards are against you there is nothing you can do. Poker, in this type of short term, is about luck and it made me accept that side of the game for what it is. There is nothing your skill can do about it except ride it out as best you can via tilt control, BR management, and dropping down. GL.
