25% off poker lessons!

I have decided to re-open my coaching services.

Now is the perfect time to improve your game at a huge discount, as I'm offering poker lessons for 25% off!!! Improve your game significantly so when online poker sorts itself out you can annihilate your opponents!

I have decided that I will offer my services at 25% off of what my hourly coaching rate was when I last coached in 2010, which was $250 per hour. It will now be $187.50 per hour. I think this is a great value and you have the added bonus of knowing that I'm a considerably improved poker player since the last time I was coaching students.

My coaching lessons are two hours in length and I feel like a minimum of 5 lessons (10 hours) is ideal for being able to fully convey my knowledge to you and have a significant impact on improving your game. If you choose to purchase a 5 lesson package, I will give you even a further discount of 20% off of the already reduced hourly fee of $187.50 on the entire lesson package. That's only $150 per hour for quality poker lessons! That's a total of 40% off my normal coaching rate!!!

My specialties are NLHE 6 Max cash games and mass tabling. I can help boost your # of tables played by at least a table or two by helping you understand how to use a few secret things that I've discovered in my VPP quest this year... I have slightly over 930k VPPs so far in 2011.

If you would like to contact me about getting lessons feel free to private message me on Cardrunners.com or email me at "Duckslayer2k@gmail.com" and I'd be glad to respond.

U.S. Open coming up soon!

I ended up going back to rush poker on FTP. I'm going to give it a serious shot and not get focused on daily results.

I've been pretty busy lately. I'm headed out to shoot in the U.S. Open Sporting Clays Championship in Mississippi on the 30th so I'm trying to cram a bunch of hands in before I leave for that. I probably won't have much time to play the entire first week of June, because the shoot is a full week long. I'm looking forward to it though and to seeing my Dad and brother who will be picking me up at the airport.

After that.... VEGAS! So I have an exciting couple of months ahead of me.

blah

played some RUSH poker on FTP today and broke even like a fish.

I need to re-listen to the Tony Robbins personal power tapes... my motivation to work is dwindling due to my constant treading water over the past 5 days or so.

FML

God this is frustrating.

Played decently well today, definitely well enough to have a great day... but I just had really bad luck. It was like the movie Groundhog's day. I just kept getting sucked out on or coolered every time I got my stack in.

Ran $2.2k below all in EV and got severely coolered for 2 more stacks that I can remember. First one was KK vs AA against a guy who had a 11% re-raise stat total... was like 20% 3-bet from the blinds... and every time I tried 4-bet bluffing him he just jammed on me... so fucking tilting. Late in the session, he 3-bets the button so it's an easy get-in for me when I have AQs and he of course has QQ and holds. The other cooler I put in half the money good with a set on a raggedy flop with pocket 7's, but the fish snapped my flop raise and turned a set of 8's when the rest of the money got in. I didn't suck out for a full buy-in once, went 0 for 4 for 100bb flips, the list could go on and on.

Tim was coaching all week so I didn't bother going to the office one day. I could really use some lessons and/or help so I can learn how to crush again, because no matter what I do it seems shit goes wrong lately.

Pwnd by donk

I had a good day overall, but three hands were just ridiculous. I was donking around a bit on rush poker when these three hands happened, all vs the same player, in this order.

AKs

Too bad it wasn't even for a full 100bbs as he had lost the rest of the money I lost to him in the above 3 hands already. He was probably the worst player I've ever seen, as he was just blindly shoving every single hand. His stats were 97/92 with 3-bet of 80% over 38 hands.

Not complaining at all, just thrilled that I got the money in so good vs this maniac. I just thought those hands were pretty goddamn hilarious, thus why I posted them.

Finally got my internet and Direct TV unfucked in my apartment, only to find out that Direct TV apparently blacks out the Blackhawks playoff games when they are in Vancouver!? wtf. So I ended up watching it over my computer through a stream. Hawks won 5-1 !!! And they move on to face the San Jose Sharks in the Western Conference final. That should be an amazing series for sure!

Donkament day & apartment technology crisis

Since one of my friends, "sethsethseth" on Stars won SCOOP event #2 (the medium buy-in one) for $288k I figured that I would give donkaments a shot today. Didn't work out for me even close to as well as it did for him. I played in about 10 tournies, mincashing in a few and not making it deep in any of them.

Mainly, I lost countless critical pots that would have either knocked me out of the tournament or given me a massive stack to work with... I got knocked out in each situation despite having a crushing % lead when the money went in. I would have been in the top 10 in chips late in the $100 rebuy had I won this pot...

This was in the SCOOP $2 mil guarantee.. villain was huge fish, I should have just jammed turn since he'd call with any pair. Reason I checked behind was because he was ULTRA spazzy and I figured he'd shover river with any two if I checked behind... too bad he rivered the flush on me.

This was in the SCOOP $500k guarantee... FML.

I just don't think I have enough patience and/or luck to do good in tournaments. I'm not going to play them anymore. It seem so peachy, you can win a shit ton if you final table, etc. but more often than not you just lose your buy-in and waste a full day playing them.

Also, I'm life tilting because the internet in my apartment went out a few days ago so I'm on my Verizon broadband card... also I wanted to watch the NHL playoffs over the past few days, but oh wait, my Direct TV shits on me too and doesn't work. I'm so pissed off, basically my internet and TV was perfectly fine until they forced the whole building of Grand Plaza to change over. Then, it doesn't work right for nearly everyone in the building. So retarded.

Need to stop bluffing fish

Had an amazing day going, until I tried to push a few fish off some hands... not a good idea. So I finished up for the day but only about 1/3 as much from my high point of the day.

I really hate looking at my daily results but I'm seriously addicted to checking HEM and I can't restrain myself. It really puts a damper on my play when I'm focusing on how much I'm up or down. I need to knock it off.

I'm going to play a ton tomorrow and maybe enter the Sunday Million using some FPPs, as I could really use a big score... so I might give it a shot. If Seth can do it, anyone can right! :D

Back to the basics

Played 4 tables of $2/4 NL 6 Max today, ran like shit, and got crushed.

I even had one of my friends, Bryan, sweating me while I was playing and basically did horrible. I don't think I made any huge mistakes, although I definitely shouldn't have stacked off JJ vs a regular who is a giant nit pre-flop.

I'm really struggling now and I don't even bother going into the office anymore because I always seem to be there all by myself. All it does is burn about 1 hour out of my day, as it takes approximately 30 minutes one way to get there from my apartment. I really am thinking that getting a poker office was a terrible idea. I add over $12k in fixed overhead costs per year which cuts into my yearly income with minimal benefit. Having any unnecessary overhead for an online poker business is completely and utterly unnecessary and retarded.

I've gotten some lessons from Nute, don't get me wrong, but they just don't seem nearly as focused, helpful, or tailored as my lessons did when I was paying by the hour and we were doing video reviews. I'm not really sure why it feels that way, but before when I took a lesson I'd always play super well afterwards and crush... now I just continue to break even. A lot of the blame is on myself too for not being in town sometimes, not being as proactive as I can to send HH's, make vids for reviewing, etc. But I'm really goddamn frustrated right now and it seriously life tilts me.

Pretty frustrating how I get worse at poker when I move to a city with the main purpose of getting better at poker. FML.

Think I'm going to start doing more sweats, HH reviews, etc with my friends so I can start improving my game. Lots of my friends are really good players themselves, but are also kind of struggling (relatively speaking).

I'm just going to keep playing, doing my best, and see what happens I guess.

Another Rush poker experiment

Seemed to start out well, but I appear to be really inconsistent in my results... It's pretty fucking frustrating. I just had to end my last session after some reg 3-bet/5-bet shoved on the button with K2soooted over my 4-bet when I had AA and flopped two pair. It's impossible for me to tell which players are playing like retard monkeys who think they can get away with anything and the players who are nut-peddling.

I also can't play for nearly as many hours in a day as I can normally obviously... even with shortening up my playing sessions to 1 hour, I was pretty much shot after 3 sessions.

Office day today

Back to the office for the rest of this week. Tim started off the day by showing me some cool hands he played yesterday and I've played one session so far and broke even.

Tim is running like shit today so hopefully that turns around for him.

Off to Jimmy John's for a bite to eat...
